Code of Conduct

SAFER SPACE POLICY:

CUFF is committed to providing a safer environment to all attendees, staff and volunteers. Racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, abusive or discriminatory language or behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to remove any patron creating an unsafe environment. Please come talk to one of our staff, or email us at conduct@calgaryundergroundfilm.org, if you have any concerns or questions about our policy.

Please note that our Safer Spaces Policy and Code of Conduct also apply to online events including those taking place as part of Calgary Underground Film Festival online events.

CODE OF CONDUCT:

The Calgary Underground Film Festival (CUFF) supports safe and inclusive cinema experiences. CUFF does not tolerate abusive, discriminatory or disruptive behaviour. This includes but is not limited to intoxicated patrons, disruptions of screenings, and harassment of others. Consequences may include removal from the venue / virtual screening, loss of festival pass or ticket, or potentially exclusion from all future CUFF events.

What events does this apply to?

This Code applies to all events, after parties, screenings, media launches, social media activities and internal festival operations. Those attending an event, including virtually, must also comply with policies of the host venue.

Who is covered by this Code?

All attendees, CUFF staff, CUFF volunteers (including DJs), venue staff and special guests. Everyone who obtains entry to a CUFF event is subject to this Code.

What do I do if I observe or experience a breach of this Code?

Please do not escalate the situation. If you are asked to stop any harassing behaviour, STOP immediately. Seriously. If immediate assistance is needed, contact a member of the CUFF staff or an employee of the venue. If there is an emergency, please call 911. For concerns that are less urgent please contact our staff by email at conduct@calgaryundergroundfilm.org. If you would prefer to discuss your concerns over the phone, please contact us at 403-444-8315. We will make sure to respond as soon as possible.
